About
Career change, planned like a project
Next Chapter Guides is a blog for people who want a different career but don’t want to gamble their income or their family’s plans to get it.
Who writes this
I’m Yashu Jambu. I’m working on my own next chapter, and I share the process openly on Threads as @yashujambu.
Most career change advice is either motivation or a list of job titles. What I wanted when I started was a plan. So that is what this blog gives you: clear steps, honest numbers and things you can actually do this week.
What you’ll find here
- Changing careers by age: honest answers for your 30s, 40s and 50s
- Finding your direction: working out what to do next, and testing it before you quit
- Money and retraining: whether you can afford the move and whether you need to retrain
- CVs and job search: rewriting your experience and getting a first role with no experience
- Teachers and nurses: exit routes built around two professions with their own rules
How the articles are checked
- Numbers and rules come from official sources, linked where they are used.
- No invented success stories, quotes or testimonials.
- Articles give general information, not financial, legal or medical advice. Rules differ by country, so each article says what to check locally.
Want the whole plan on paper?
The Next Chapter guides are printable PDF workbooks with worksheets and worked examples, from “am I too old?” to your first offer. One of them is free.
Also from me: Side Quest Crew runs one free 30-day challenge a month, done together. The Career Shift Quest runs 1 to 30 November 2026.
